Principle of Design

Pattern
Movement

Rhythm

Emphasis

Proportion

Unity

Variety

Repetition

Asymmetrical Balance

My favorite image is proportion because I think it clearly shows proportion but is also shows that they are opposites with the color scheme of the shoes: black verses white.

Review Photojournalism

Questions:

'Happy Horsemeat' by Alex Soth
  1. The story is a man that went to Las Vegas with his wife on his birthday with only five hundred dollars given by his mother. He wanted a rare book that costs four thousand dollars for his birthday. To achieve this goal he tries to gamble with his five hundred dollars given by his mother. He fails his goal and is left with less than a hundred dollars. He then collects hookers cards from the strip and later makes a sculpture out of it hoping to sell it for more than four hundred dollars.
  2. This whole story happened because he wanted a book called Horsemeat by Charles Bukowski that cost four thousand dollars for his birthday gift.
  3. The author tells this story to share his life experiences and what he learned from it.
  4. The images in the beginning make me wonder and think into different stories he could tell. The images at the end with the hooker cards disgusted me so much I wouldn't even touch the computer screen.
  5. Yes, the images do enhance the story because it sets a scene for the story he tells. When he tells the story my imagination looks completely different than what he shows. The pictures let the viewers also live in his story.
